Brooks, William Grant
educator, composer, poet, was born Feb. 26, 1869, in Saco, Maine. He is the author of a number of songs that have become popular throughout the United States; and many of his poems have been incorporated into several standard works. He is a good musician, and for many years was organist in the Universalist church of Biddeford, Maine.
He is one of the most prominent members of the Maine grand lodge of Good Templars; Knights of Pythias, and other fraternal bodies.
