Beckwith, Charles D

manufacturer, congressman, was born Oct. 23, 1838, in Saratoga, N. Y. He was educated at private schools in Troy, N. Y.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Worcester, Mass.; and at New Haven, Conn. (military). He is engaged in iron manufacturing; served as alderman and mayor, each four years; and was elected to the fifty-first congress as a republican.

BECKWITH, EDWARD GRIFFIN. soldier, was born June 25, 1818, in Cazenovia, N. Y. He was graduated at West Point in 1842, served in the war with Mexico at Tampico and Vera Cruz.
