Briggs, George

lawyer, legislator, was born April 26, 1844, in Brandon, Vt.

In 1866 he graduated from the Hobart college of Geneva, N. Y. He has served as a member of the Vermont house of representatives; and also as a member of the state senate. He has been vice-president of the Vermont Mutual Fire Insurance company; vice-president of the Rutland Savings bank; director of the National Life Insurance company; has been prominently identified with various other business enterprises; and is one of the foremost attorneys of his state.
