Bradbury, James Ware

lawyer, United States senator, was born in 1805 in York county, Maine. In 1825 he graduated from Bowdoin college, and became a noted lawyer; and was county attorney during 1834-38. In 1844 he was presidential elector; and during 1847-53 was United States senator from as Maine, serving as chairman of the committee on printing. He was county attorney during 1834-38, and filled many public positions of honor in his city, county and state. He has been president of the Maine Historical society.
