Bogy, Lewis V

lawyer, legislator, United States senator, was born April 9, 1813, in St. Genevieve, Mo. He was several times elected to the state legislature; and was commissioner of Indian affairs in 1867 and 1868. He was one of the projectors and friends of the St. Louis and Iron Mountain railroad, of which he was for two years president. He was elected to the United States senate for the term commencing in 1873 and ending in 1879.

He died Sept. 20, 1877, in St. Louis, Mo. now
