Blue, Richard Whiting

soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born Sept. 8, 1841, in Wood county, Va. He enlisted in the third West Virginia volunteer infantry, and served first as a private and later as lieutenant in said regiment. He is a lawyer by profession and was in active practice when elected to congress.

He has been probate judge of his county two terms, county attorney two terms, and a state senator of Kansas two terms, and was elected to the fifty-fourth congress as a republican.
