Baldwin, Simeon Eben

lawyer, jurist, was born Feb. 5, 1840, in New Haven, Conn. In 1872 he was professor of constitutional law in Yale university. In 1893 he became associate judge of the supreme court of errors of Connecticut.. During 1872-87 he was a member of various state commissions for the revision of laws on education, pleading, taxation and general statutes. In 1890 he was president of the American Bar association; president of the American Social Science association in 1897; and during 1884-96 was president of the New Haven Colony Historical society.
