Baker, Caleb
congressman, atborn in Providence, R. I. He served four years in the New York assembly; was a representative in congress from that state from 1819 to 1821, islative assembly of Arizona, and was chairman of the judiciary committee in that body. He has been a member of the board of curators, territorial library; a mer- BAKER, CHARLES JOSEPH, chant, manufacturer, was born May 28, 1821, in Baltimore, Md. It was through his efforts that the Union railroad and tunnel were constructed; and, having bought control of The Baltimore Gazette, he was enabled to advance reform movements. He died Sept. 23, 1894, in Baltimore, Md.
