Searl, Fernando C
lawyer, poet, was born July 18, 1825, in Scioto county, Ohio. He is a prominent attorney of Portsmouth, Ohio, where he has been engaged in the practice of his profession for many years, and has filled various public positions of trust. He has contributed extensively both prose and verse to the periodical press, and his poems have appeared in the leading magazines of America, and in Poets of America and other standard works. He is the author of a volume of Collected Poems.
