Parris, Virgil D

lawyer, state senator, congressman. He was assistant secretary of the state senate in 1831; and was a member of the Maine legislature from 1833 to 1839. He was a representative in congress from Maine from 1838 to 1841; and a state senator in 1842 and 1843.

He was a United States marshal for Maine from 1844 to 1848; United States special mail agent from 1853 to 1856; and subsequently held the office of naval storekeeper at Kittery, Maine. He died June 13, 1874, in Kittery, Maine.
