Garner, W. Scott
journalist, poet, was born Jan. 16, 1848, in Preston county, W. Va. He has established and edited several newspapers, and his poems have appeared in the leading newspapers and magazines of America.
GARNETT, ALEXANDER YELVER- ΤΟΝ ΡΕΥTON, physician, was born Sept. 20, 1820, in Essex county, Va. In 1861 he left Washington and became a member of the examining board of surgeons for the confederate army, and afterward surgeon in charge of the two military hospitals in Richmond. He died July 11, 1888, in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
