Parker, Isaac
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born June 17, 1768, in Boston, Mass. He was elected to congress, serving as a representative from 1797 to 1799. He was appointed, by President Adams, marshal for the district of Maine, which office he held until 1801. He afterward removed to Portland. In 1806 he became judge of the supreme court, and in 1814 chief justice, which position he occupied for sixteen years. For several years he was professor of law in Harvard university. He died May 26, 1830, in Boston, Mass.
