Mcgowan, James H

soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born April 2, 1837, in Mahoning county, Ohio. He was prosecuting attorney of Michigan from 1868 to 1872; and served one term in the state senate. He was for seven years a regent of the university of Michigan, resigning to take his seat as a representative from Michigan in the forty-fifth congress. He 'was re-elected to the forty-sixth congress as a republican.

MCGRATH, A. G., lawyer, jurist, was born in South Carolina. While residing in Charleston he was appointed judge of the United States court for the district of South Carolina.
