Mcgrew, William Henry

lawyer, was born Feb. 17, 1817, in Shelbyville, Ky.

He received a liberal education at the country schools, and at the Augusta college, Ky. For many years he practiced law in Sacramento, Cal.; and for two years was city recorder of that city. He subsequently practiced his profession in Phœnix, Ariz.

MCGROARTY, STEPHEN JOSEPH, soldier, lawyer, was born in 1830 in Ireland. When the civil war began he raised a company of Irish-Americans for three months, with which he re-enlisted for three years, and was brevetted brigadiergeneral of volunteers in 1865. He died Jan. 2, 1870, in College Hill, Ohio.
