Maynard, Fred A
lawyer, legislator, jurist, was born Jan. 20, 1852, in Ann Arbor, Mich. Since 1876 he has practiced law in Grand Rapids, Mich. In 1881 he was elected prosecuting attorney; was nominated for judge of superior court in 1885; and in 1890 was elected a representative to the state legislature. In 1894 he became attorney-general of the state, to which position he was re-elected in MAYNARD, GEORGE WILLOUGHBY, artist, was born March 5, 1843, in Washington, D. C. In 1884 he was awarded a medal at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Besides numerous portraits, his works include Vespers at Antwerp; and 1776, sent to the centennial exhibition of 1876; Water Carriers of Venice; Musical Memories; and Venetian Court.
