physician, author, was born June 23, 1837, in Otis, Mass. He is a physician of Cambridge, and the author of Anatomy and Surgical Treatment of Hernia; and professional translations from the Italian of Ercolani.

railroad president, was born Jan. 28, 1837, in Hartland, Vt.

In 1889 he became president of the Fitchburg railroad at Boston, Mass.

She has written extensively both prose and verse for the Detroit Free Press, the Overland Monthly, and other prominent publications; and her poems have been published in several national collections.
