Mead, Richard Homer
physician, journalist, was born Jan. 16, 1847, in Huntsville, Ill. He received his education in the common schools, and graduated from the Medical college of Keokuk, Iowa.
During the civil war he served as a private in company K, eighth regiment Iowa cavalry, and is prominent and active in Grand Army of the Republic work. He has been examiner in the pension office at Washington, D. C., and has filled various other public positions of trust. In writing he has an incisive and instructive style; has contributed extensively to medical journals, and is the editor of The Register of Camden, Ill.
