Howard, Norman De Vere

soldier, physician, was born March 20, 1842, in Washington, D. C. He graduated from the medical department of the Washington university, and has attained prominence as a successful physician and recognized expert in diseases of the nervous system and insanity. For nine years he was superintendent of the St. Louis Insane asylum; and is now president of the medical examining board of his district at Sanford, Fla. Dr. Howard served through the war in the confederate army. He is a member of various learned societies; and of the leading medical bodies of America.
