Hopper, Harry Shelmire

lawyer, genealogist, was born June 13, 1858, in Philadelphia, Pa. He received his degree of bachelor of arts from the Central High school of Philadelphia in 1875; and in 1880 received the degree of master of arts from the same institution. In 1878 he graduated from the university of Pennsylvania with the degree of bachelor of laws; was admitted to the bar. the following year, and has continued in active practice ever since in Philadelphia.

He has been an occasional contributor to historical magazines, and has given much time to genealogical research and to the compiling of a history of the Hopper Family and Collateral Lines. He is historian of the Association Alumni of the Central High School of Philadelphia, and a prominent member of various clubs and associations in his native city.
