He was brigadier-general of the United States volunteers; has served as United States marshal for the southern district of Ohio; and as lieutenant governor of the state of Ohio. He has been city civil engineer of Cincinnati, Ohio; and is now president of the Cincinnati Gas Light and Coke company.
