Since 1851 he has resided in America, and has become noted as a painter of religsubjects. ious A number of noted portraits mark his artistic career, and one of his latest works are the seven panels in the ceiling of the congressional reading rooms in the library of congress, representing the Pictorial Spectrum of Light. He exhibited at the World's Columbian exposition his Light of the Incarnation, a medley of angels robed in all colors.
