Grundy, Felix
lawyer, jurist, congressman, United States senator, was born Sept. 11, 1770, in Berkeley county, Va. For six or seven years he was member of the Kentucky legislature; and in 1806 was elected one of the judges of the supreme court of Kentucky, and was soon after chief justice.
From 1811 to 1814 he was a representative in congress from Tennessee, and during several years after was a member of the legislature of that state. From 1829 to 1838 he was United States senator, and in the latter year attorney-general of the United States. In 1840 he resigned this position, and was again elected senator.
He died Dec. 19, 1840, in Nashville, Tenn.
