Grennell, George

lawyer, jurist, state senator, congressman, was born Dec. 25, 1786, in Greenfield, Mass. He was prosecuting attorney for Franklin county from 1820 to 1828. He was a member of the state senate from 1824 to 1827; and was a representative in congress from Massachusetts from 1829 to 1839. He was, from 1838 to 1859, a member of the board of trustees of Amherst college; and from 1849 to 1853 was probate judge for his county. He died Nov. 20, 1877, in Greenfield, Mass.
