Giddings, Franklin Henry
educator, journalist, author, born March 23, 1855, in Sherman, Conn. In 1888, after years of editorial work, he was appointed to the chair of political science in Bryn Mawr college, Pa. While holding that position he delivered a series of lectures on Sociology at Columbia college, N. Y.; and since 1891 has filled the chair on that subject in that institution. He is the author of a very able work entitled Principles of Sociology. His other works are: Report on Profit Sharing; and The Modern Distributive Process.
