Eaton, Edward Dwight
clergyman, educator, college president, was born Jan. 12, 1851, in Lancaster, Wis. This eminent clergyman and educator has filled pastorates in the congregational church at Newton, Iowa, and at Oak Park, Ill.; and in 1886 became president of the Beloit college, Wis. EATON, GEORGE WASHINGTON, clergyman, college president, was born July 3, 1804, in Henderson, Pa. He was president of Madison university from 1850 till 1861, and at the same time professor of systematic theology. From 1861 to 1871 he was president of Hamilton Theological seminary and professor of homiletics. He died Aug. 3, 1872, in Hamilton, N. Y.
