Earl, Adams
railroad builder, was born in 1820, in Fairfield county, Ohio.
In 1870 the Cincinnati, Lafayette and Chicago Railroad company was organized, to construct and operate a railroad from Lafayette to Kankakee, Ill., connecting at the latter place with the Illinois Central railroad, and thus forming the connecting link in the through line from Cincinnati to Chicago. This road was built and owned by Adams Earl, Moses Fowler, and Gustavus Ricker; Mr.
Earl being president, general manager, and builder.
EARL, NATHANIEL CHURCHILL, clergyman, was born Dec. 22, 1832, in Canada. He graduated from the Meadville Theological school, and for thirty years has been a successful clergyman in Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin, in the Universalist and Unitarian churches.
