Eaton, Amos Beebe

soldier, was born May 12, 1806, in Catskill, N. Y. He was brevetted major-general in 1865, and was placed on the retired list in 1874. He died Feb. 21, 1877, in New Haven, Conn.

EATON, ARTHUR WENTWORTH HAMILTON, clergyman, educator, author, was born Dec. 10, 1849, in Nova Scotia.

He is an episcopal clergyman and instructor of New York city. He is the author of The Heart of the Creeds, a notable contribution to Broad church literature; Acadian Legends and Lyrics; Letter-Writing, its Ethics and Etiquette; The Church of England in Nova Scotia; and Tales of a Garrison Town.
