Donnell, Richard S

congressman, was born in North Carolina. He was a representative in congress from that state from 1847 to 1849; and in 1863 published a Letter on the Rebellion, which attracted great attention.

DONNELLY, ELEANOR CECILIA, author, poet, was born Sept. 6, 1838, in Philadelphia, Pa. She is a Pniladelphia writer of religious poetry, the greater part of which is occupied with Roman catholic themes.

Among her many volumes are Domus Dei; Out of Sweet Solitude; Hymns of the Sacred Heart; and Children of the Golden Sheaf and Other Poems. She is a constant contributor to the leading newspapers and magazines.
