Danks, Hart Pease
musician, author, was born in 1834, in New Haven, Conn. His first musical composition was inserted in Bradbury's Jubilee, under the name of Lake Street, and is well known.
In 1856 his first song, The Old Lane, was published in Chicago, since which time he has issued several hundred. Two of them, Silver Threads among the Gold, and Don't be Angry with Me, Darling. He resides in New York city.
DANNELLY, MRS. ELIZABETH OTIS, artist, poet, was born June 13, 1838, in Monticello, Ga. In 1855 she graduated from the Madison Female college, and subsequently spent a year in New York city receiving instruction in oil painting.
She was the widow of F. O. Dannelly, at one time a surgeon in the United States army. She was the author of Cactus, or Thorns and Blossom; and Wayside Flowers. She died in 1896.
