Crowl, Theodore

soldier, clergyman, was born July 22, 1844, in Darlington, Pa. He served as a union soldier during the civil war in the one hundred and seventy-eighth regiment Ohio volunteer infantry; was promoted to second lieutenant; and was judge advocate of general court martial United States army at Tullahoma and Murfreesboro, Tenn., during the winter of 1864-65. In 1868 he graduated from the Washington and Jefferson college; and in 1871 from the Western Theological seminary of Pittsburg, Pa. In 1873 he organized the First Presbyterian church of Tacoma, Wash.

He has filled pastorates in Seattle, Wash.; Zanesville, Ohio; and is now pastor of the First Congregational church of Sterling, Ill. He has contributed extensively to religious literature.
