Conrad, Robert Taylor
lawyer, jurist, poet, was born June 10, 1810, in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a lawyer of and Philadelphia mayor of that city in 1854, who was once noted as a dramatic poet. He was the author of Aylmere, or the Bondman of Kent, a tragedy in which Jack Cade is the chief figure, a role in which Edwin Forrest was very successful. Conrad of Naples, another tragedy, had also a measure of popularity. He died June 27, 1858, in Philadelphia, Pa.
