Burbault, J. E
soldier, legislator, was born Aug. 20, 1822, in Hanover, Pa.
He participated in the Kansas troubles in 1857 with Lane, John Brown and others; and was one of the original founders of Falls City, Neb. He was instrumental in passing the bill to abolish slavery in the territory of Nebraska in 1859; and served as paymaster in 1863. He was appointed in the regular army and served on the frontier during the rebellion, retiring through disability in 1875. He has also served with distinction as member of the Nebraska legislature.
