Brown, William Wallace

soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born April 22, 1836, in Summerhill, N. Y. He enlisted in the union army for a three-years' term; and served with gallantry until the close of the war. He was elected district attorney in 1866. He was a representative in the state legislature from 1872 to 1876; was elected a representative from Pennsylvania to the forty-eighth congress; and was re-elected to the fortyninth congress as a republican. BROWN, WOLSTON RICHMOND, banker, lawyer, was born Oct. 6, 1860, in Brooklyn, N. Y. In 1886 he was elected to the city council of Passaic, N. J., and served two terms; in 1889 was appointed supreme court commissioner; in 1891 was elected mayor, and re-elected in 1893.

BROWN, YARDLEY T.. journalist, poet, was born July 13, 1852, near Winchester, Va. For nearly a quarter of a century he has been the editor and owner of The Telephone of Loudon, Va.
