Bradford, Allen A
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born July 23, 1815, in Friendship, Maine. In 1852 he was appointed judge of the sixth judicial district of Iowa, which office he resigned in 1855. He was a member of the legislative council of the territory of Nebraska in 1856, 1857, and 1858. In 1860 he settled in Colorado, and in 1862 he was appointed judge of the supreme court of that territory, which position he held until elected a delegate from Colorado to the thirty-ninth congress; and was re-elected to the forty-first congress as a republican.
