Barbee, William J
educator, clergyman, physician, author, was born in 1816 in Winchester, Ky. He was educated at Miami university, Oxford, Ohio, and studied medicine with Dr. Drake, of Cincinnati, where he practiced from 1836 to 1846. He afterward taught school in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Missouri, and also became a preacher of the Christian or Campbellite denomination. He is the author of Physical and Moral Aspects of Geology (Philadelphia, 1859); The Cotton Question; The Scriptural Doctrine of Confirmation; Life of the Apostle Peter, and other works.
