Ballard, Ezra H
educator, physician, was born Nov. 18, 1843, in Helena, N. Y. He received his education at the public schools; Fort Covington academy; State Normal school of Albany, N. Y.; and in 1868 graduated from the medical department of the university of Michigan. During 1871-73 he served as superintendent of schools in Emmet county, Iowa; and again during 1885-89. serving nearly eight years. During 1874-79 he was county treasurer; and since 1879 has given his whole attention to the practice of medicine at Westerville. In 1888 The was elected a member of the educational council, and has always taken an active part in educational matters.
