Baldwin, James Mark

educator, author, was born Jan. 12, 1861, in Columbia, S. C. In 1884 he graduated from the Princeton university, and has attained success as an educator. During 1887-89 he was professor in the Lake Forest university; professor in the university of Toronto during 1890-93; and since 1893 has been professor in the Princeton university. In 1897 he was elected president of the American Psychological association; and the same year was awarded a gold medal by the Royal academy of Denmark. He is the author of Psychology; Elements of Psychology; Mental Development in the Child and Man; and a translation of Ribot's German Psychology of To-Day.
