Bailey, Lepha Eliza
lecturer, prohibitionist, was born Jan. 21, 1844, in Battle Creek, Mich. She received her education in the public schools of her native city and at the Battle Creek college. For many years she has been secretary of the Woman's Christian Temperance union; Reform club; Sovereigns of Industry; and of the Independent Order of Good Templars. She has delivered hundreds of lectures on temperance and reform subjects and is one of the most talented leaders in the field of prohibition. She has contributed extensively to the periodical press; has edited various departments in newspapers, and is the author of several works in prose and verse.
