Anderson, Samuel Jameson
was born in December, 1824, in Portland, Maine. In 1856 he was elected attorney for the county of Cumberland, and in 1856 was surveyor of the port, and held the office four years. In 1869 he was elected president of the Portland and Ogdensburg railroad on its organization, and is now in that position. In 1878 he was nominated by the democratic party for congress, but failed of an election. For some years he was major-general in the state militia.
