Alexander, John M
soldier, business man, public officer, was born May 17, 1841, in Delaware county, Ohio. He served three years in Sheridan's army, and was wounded at Fisher's Hill in 1864. He is a successful business man of Gallipolis, Ohio, and has been mayor of his city four terms.
He ALEXANDER, JOSEPH ADDISON, clergyman, author, was born April 24, 1809, in Philadelphia, Pa., and is a son of A. Alexander. He was a presbyterian clergyman, professor at Princeton college, and theological seminary, 1820-60. was the author of Commentaries on the Psalms, Isaiah, Acts, Matthew, and Mark, and many theological reviews, often as sarcastic as they were forcible. He died Jan. 28, 1860, in Princeton, N. J.
