ALTHOUGH some allowance must be made for the official hyperboles of the great bard Penta-ur, the friend of the master of the world, it remains a confirmed fact in history that the world had never until then beheld power so vast as that possessed by Rameses on his triumphal return from his great expedition, and that for many generations afterward it was not to witness such another.
