merchant, congressman, was born May 17, 1860, in Norfolk, Va. He was elected from Norfolk City, Va., to the fifty-fifth congress as a democrat.
YOUNG, WILLIAM HENRY HARRI- SON HUTCHINSON, soldier, journalist, lawyer, inventor, was born May 4, 1819, in Amherst, N. Y. Since the war Colonel Young has practiced law in Washington.
He and his wife founded the New York Volunteer institute, a school in which they educated nine hundred soldiers' or phans at their own expense. He has invented and patented an artificial stone.
