Woodruff, Wilford
apostle president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was born March 1, 1807, in Avon, Conn. For many years he was a member of the legislature of Utah; president of the Deseret Agricultural and Manufacturing association, and president of several mercantile institutions. He has been priest and elder in his church, and is still its active president; vigorous at the age of ninety years, attending daily to official duties, preaches frequently, and presides over church affairs in all the world.
