Wilkinson, Morton Smith
lawyer, state senator, congressman, United States senator, was born Jan. 22, 1819, in Skaneateles, N. Y. In 1847 he settled in Minnesota; and in 1849, when that territory was organized, was elected to the legislature, and the laws adopted by the territory as its code were of his draughting. In 1859 he was chosen a senator in congress from Minnesota for the term ending in 1865. He was subsequently elected to the forty-first congress as a representative from Minnesota.
WILKINSON, THEODORE STARK, planter, congressman, was born Dec. 18, 1847, in Plaquemines Parish, La. He was a member and president of the board of levee commissioners for the third levee district; and was elected to the fiftieth congress, and was re-elected to the fiftyfirst congress as a democrat.
