Walsh, Robert
public official, journalist, author, was born in 1784 in Baltimore, Md. He was a prominent Philadelphian who was United States consul at Paris in 1845-51. In 1811 he established the American Review of History and Politics, the first quarterly in the United States. He was the author of An Appeal from the Judgments of Great Britain; Letter on the Genius and Disposition of the French Government; Correspondence Respecting Russia; Didactics; and The Museum of Foreign Literature and Science. He died Feb. 7, 1859, in Paris, France.
