Northway, Stephen A
lawyer, congressman, was born June 19, 1833, in Christian Hollow, N. Y. In 1861 he was elected prosecuting attorney and located in Jefferson, Ohio, where he resided and practiced law until his death. In 1863 he was re-elected prosecuting attorney. In 1865 he was elected to the state house of representatives and served two years. He was elected to the fifty-third congress; was elected to the fifty-fourth and reelected to the fifty-fifth congress as a republican. He died Sept. 8, 1898, in Jefferson, Ohio. 1857. After resigning the judgeship in 1860 he was elected a representative from Missouri to the thirty-seventh congress.
