Waite, Carlos Adolphus
soldier, was born in 1800. He was brevetted brigadier-general of volunteers in 1865 for long and faithful service in the army. He died May 7, 1866, in Plattsburg, N. Y.
WAITE, MRS. CATHERINE [VAN VALKENBURG], suffragist, lawyer, author, was born in 1829 in Canada West. She is a Chicago lawyer, founder of The Chicago Law Times, and an active advocate of woman suffrage. She is the author of The Mormon Prophet and his Harem.
WAITE, CHARLES BURLINGAME, lawyer, jurist, author, was born Jan. 29, 1824, in Wayne county, N. Y. He removed to Illinois, from which state he was appointed an associate judge of the United States court for the territory of Utah, residing at Salt Lake City.
