Vroom, Peter Dumont

soldier, was born April 18, 1842, in Trenton, N. J.

He served in the civil war, was promoted major of the second New Jersey cavalry in 1863, and brevetted lieutenant-colonel and colonel of volunteers for meritorious services during the war. He became first lieutenant in the third United States cavalry in 1866.
