Venting, Richard
clergyman, author, lecturer, was born May 19, 1863, in Wellington, England. This eminent clergyman of the baptist church now fills a pastorate in Denison, Iowa. At the age of fifteen he engaged in evangelistic work, and has ever since been devoted to Christian labor in England and in the United States. He is the author of several books, the most noted of which are Fragrant Flowers of Truth; Ancient Emblem of Beauty; and The Different Aspects of the Christian Life. He is also a successful lecturer, and known as one of Iowa's brightest young divines and zealous workers.
VER BRYCK, CORNELIUS, artist, was born Jan. 1, 1813, in Yaugh Paugh, N. J.
The New York Historical society owns his The Old Dutch Bible. Among his portraits is one of William Cullen Bryant. He died May 31, 1844, in Brooklyn, N. Y.
