Ustick, Thomas
clergyman, philanthropist, was born Aug. 30, 1753, in New York city. He was educated at the Rhode Island college, now the Brown university, where he graduated in 1771. In 1777 he was ordained to the ministry, and in 1782 became pastor of the First Baptist church of Philadelphia. During the yellow fever in Philadelphia in 1793 he was of great service to his fellowmen. He died April 18, 1803, and was buried in the cemetery at the rear of the First Baptist church, of which he had been pastor for twentyone years.
